Reunion Tower is the Most Romantic Place in Dallas

Reunion Tower is the Most Romantic Place in Dallas

With 700 proposals a year, love gets taken to new heights

More than 700 couples get engaged at Reunion Tower every year. Just proving that love is absolutely not canceled.  Even former Texas Rangers baseball player Elvis Andrus popped the question at Reunion Tower.

With couples, both local and from afar, scurrying to the Dallas icon each week, what is it about “The Ball” that has so many people wanting this to be their magic proposal spot?

The View

With 360 views of the city, you really can’t have a better background for the perfect proposal. Add in a beautiful Dallas sunset to the mix, and it’s truly golden hour. Not to mention this beacon serves as a reminder to rekindle those feelings from the night of the engagement.

Ashley and Gabe Herrera got engaged on the exterior section of the GeO-Deck in 2017.

Local high school sweethearts, Gabe always knew this would be the spot to pop the question to his longtime love. He worked with the Love Is In The Air team to coordinate the perfect surprise, keeping it all under wraps until the magic moment.

And another couple that returns to the Tower frequently after their special engagement, now with a family, sharing the special memories with younger generations, is Daisy and Scott Smith. They enjoyed dinner at the Tower and then ventured to the GeO-Deck, with help from their Love Is In The Air coordinator, and punctuated the night with a nightfall proposal.

Monument for your Love

As the Tower has been a beacon of love and reunion for special moments for over four decades, it’s no doubt the proposals keep rolling in. One of the first, and literally most over-the-top proposals happened a couple of years after the Tower was erected, in 1980. Mark Lovvorn hired a prop plane with a message banner to propose to his love, Patty. Each year since, they return to Reunion Tower as it’s their special anniversary spot to commemorate a special day in their lives. Their son even got engaged on the GeO-Deck in 2020 to carry on the family tradition.

What’s up next?

Reunion Tower’s best-kept secret? They have an employee whose sole job is to keep the secrets of those who are about to propose. Basically acting as Dallas’ Cupid, this Love Is In The Air Coordinator creates a night to remember and takes all the logistics under control. So all the proposer has to think about is getting down on one knee and popping the question. No worrying about who’s taking photos of the picture-perfect moment, not worrying that the ideal spot won’t be open. And the Coordinator pulls some strings to arrange for private elevator rides, has champagne at the ready for a celebratory toast and has made all sorts of requests happen. Truly, the sky’s the limit.
